Northern Data Systems (NDS), an owner and distributor of the Sharetec Core Processing System, announced it has been selected by Chicopee Municipal Employees Credit Union (CMECU) to replace its current core processing solution. The Sharetec core processing system is installed at nearly 300 credit unions nationwide.

Ken Champeau, Manager/CEO of CMECU stated “After much study we are confident NDS/Sharetec will meet our needs of providing excellent service to our membership while continuing to satisfy all compliance demands at a reasonable cost.”

Sharetec System announces
Members “First” Community Credit Union (MFCCU) has switched from Sharetec’s In-House system to their Service Bureau, extending their contract with Bradford-Scott Data Corporation, an owner/distributor of the Sharetec System.

Teri McEwen, President of MFCCU, remarks,

Surveys show that mobile apps are getting big in Texas.

“Thirty-three percent of respondents now use mobile apps on a smartphone or tablet, up from 20% two years ago and 7% in 2009, according to SWACHA–The Electronic Payments Resource, a Dallas-based not-for-profit payment association with about 1,100 financial institution and other clients across the Southwest.

More and more of the credit union CEO’s are seeing the increase in members relying on being mobile. Mobile apps are gaining popularity and offers the convenience that members are looking for. Such as checking balances and remote deposit capture on the go.

SWACHA released the results of its 2013 survey on Thursday at its inaugural Executive Leadership Payments Summit in Dallas.”
